Indonesia under travel warning threat

Indonesia is under travel warning threat by several countries following strong bomb blasts at the Carlton and Marriott hotels that killed at least nine people here Friday morning, a travel industry executive said.

"The issuance of travel warnings by a number of countries is most likely. In the past, when there were bomb explosions, many countries soon issued travel warnings for their citizens so that they would not visit Indonesia," chairman of the Association of Indonesian Travel Agencies (ASITA), Ben Sukma Harahap, said here on Friday.

He said that if many countries issued travel warnings, many parties would suffer losses such as business players, travel agencies, tourist destinations and the government.
