Trikomsel aims to raise income to Rp6.4 trillion this year

Publicly-listed cellular phone distributor PT Trikomsel Oke Tbk (Trikomsel) has set the target of its income for 2009 at Rp6.4 trillion, a 20.75 percent increase from last year`s income.

"We are optimistic we can achieve the targeted income of Rp6.4 trillion for this year in line with the people`s rising income and high demand for sophisticated technological products," Trikomsel President Director Sugiono Wiyono said here on Friday.

The company also targeted its net income this year to increase two digits from last year`s Rp102 billion, he said.

The net income projection was based on the high market prospect of telecommunication products particularly cellular phones and information technology, he said.

Established in 1996 Trikomsel is one of the country`s distributors of cellular phones bearing well-known brands such as Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Blackberry and IPhone.

Trikomsel which listed its shares with the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) on April 14, 2009 now has a total of 813 outlets called OkeShops in 145 cities across Indonesia.
Sugiono said the company allocated Rp30 billion in capital expenditure (Capex) this year.

"Part of the Capex comes from proceeds from the IPO (initial public offering) of the company`s shares and its equities," he said.

Suryatin Setiawan, a member of the company`s board of commissioners, said the Capex would be used to expand the OkeShop`s networks as well as to increase the number of notebook outlets.

"The sales of notebooks bearing Acer brand at the OkeShop outlets will begin in the third quarter of 2009," Suryatin said.(antaranews.com)
